Grassland Phenology’s Sensitivity to Extreme Climate Indices in the Sichuan Province, Western China

Depending on the vegetation type, extreme climate and drought events have a greater impact end of season (EOS) start (SOS). This study investigated spatial temporal distribution characteristics grassland phenology its responses to seasonal changes in Sichuan Province from 2001 2020. Based data 38 meteorological stations Province, this calculated 15 indices recommended by Expert Team Climate Change Detection Indices (ETCCDI). The results showed that SOS was concentrated mid-March mid-May (80–140 d), 61.83% area significant advancing trend, with rate 0–1.5 d/a. EOS between 270–330 d, late September November, 71.32% delayed trend. strongly influenced diurnal temperature range (DTR), yearly maximum consecutive five-day precipitation (RX5), dryness index (TVDI), while most minimum daily (TNN), mean (TEMP_MEAN), TVDI. RX5 day an overall positive sensitivity coefficient for SOS. TNN EOS. TVDI negative sensitivities EOS, respectively. suggests change, if it causes increase SOS, may also cause research can provide scientific basis developing regional restoration disaster prediction strategies Province.
